[another addition to the list of things Yelena thinks she ought to be concerned about, and instead keeps brushing aside: how easy it turns out to be to get used to sharing a bed with someone else. not as a matter of necessity, not with some invisible line dividing my side and your side, but simply as a matter of being too wrapped up in each other to separate.

in this case, literally. it's almost a little too warm, despite the fact that she's not got a stitch of clothing on, tangled up in each other as they are, but it manages to stay just in that range where the warmth keeps you drowsy and drifting. that, and the way Yelena can just tuck her face a little more against John's neck to block out any light, are the excuses she'll use to blame him for the fact that she makes no move to get out of bed and start her day when she starts to wake up.

but she's not thinking about that yet. she's not part of the real world again enough yet for it to be relevant, she only exists in this liminal space of being held in such a way that don't go has become a physical sensation, of a pulse there just within reach of her mouth keeping time, and - well, she's only human. so if her hands wander a little bit, just to see how much they can before he wakes up, or if she wiggles around a little to be pressed against him more in the way that speeds up the heart rate then relaxes it, who can blame her? who could pass this up? she really isn't even directly trying to wake him up, or make anything happen (yet), she's just basking in all the comfort and possibility]

only if you have an unreasonable fear of trees.

now now, keep in mind he's extremely protective of me and will probably pull you aside to interrogate you
